Water has always played a large part in Ted’s life. An Officer Cadet in the Merchant Navy at the age of 16, he moved to Maidenhead 60 years ago to be near the river.
In 1974 he started his own dredging business which bloomed into a group of five separate businesses, including a small shipyard at Brentford, passenger boats at Maidenhead and a water-related design company. Ted rowed at Henley in 1961 and rowed the English Channel at 64.
