The bells of Holy Trinity are recognised as, perhaps, the finest in Berkshire. There is a “ring” of 10 bells and the oldest was hung in 1635. Our bell ringers call the faithful to church every Sunday and are often looking for more members. Details can be sought from Click Here
On the 5th of June 2012 we were successful in our peal attempt at HTC celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. We rang 5039 Changes of Grandsire Caters in 3 hours and 8 minutes.
The band comprised 6 of the local Cookham ringers – Marcia Dieppe, Mandy Salter, Claire Fisher (her FIRST peal), Timmy Mallett, Andrew McKerlie and Freddie Daniel, plus 4 ringing friends; Ken Datrvill (Conductor), Graham Firman, Sam Maynard and Charles Botting.
At the end of the peal we were greeted by congratulatory cheers and applause from a small group who had gathered in the churchyard below – including the Vicar, and Churchwarden Mike Clark. The brought with them a Champagne Toast and also provided most welcome refreshments. A lovely finale to what had been a great team effort and achievement, of which we can be justly proud.
