Mike Bryan will be talking about the famous World Heritage site of Hadrian’s Wall but also wax about the other great Roman frontier sites in Britain such as the Antonine Wall and the Forts of the Saxon Shore that might be less well known but are equally impressive.

It was quite a job keeping the ancient Britons under control and amazingly a substantial amount of the military infrastructure is still there to be seen.

Mike has had a long career in publishing including 32 years at iconic publisher Penguin Books. Most recently he was CEO of Penguin Books India and President of Penguin Books Canada. He is currently Managing Director of The Baker Street Press and a director of the Buckingham Literary Festival. He is an enthusiastic historian of all things Roman.
